KAFO atau singkatan dari Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis adalah orthotic bawah yang berfungsi dan digunakan untuk mengontrol ketidakstabilan antara lutut dan tungkai bawah dan berfungsi untuk membuat stabil dalam mengontrol berbagai gerakan yang melibatkan lutut dan tungkai. Ketidakstabilan ini bisa disebabkan antara lain; patah tulang, kelainan lutut, sendi rematik, kelemahan otot dan atau kelumpuhan. Karena banyaknya penyebab, design KAFO bisa berbeda-beda tergantung tipe kelainan dan kebutuhan. KAFO ini dibuat dengan komponen kulit atau plastik, aluminium, dan memiliki sendi lutut yang bisa dikancingkan atau tidak dikancingkan sewaktu waktu dibutuhkan.
Penggunaan KAFO
Karena banyaknya pilihan dan perbedaan desain KAFO ini, CV Japro Medika atau orthotis Anda akan memberikan pertimbangan dan memberi petunjuk design KAFO mana yang akan digunakan dan cara penggunaan KAFO. Garis besar penggunaan KAFO antara lain:
1. Gunakan kaus kaki katun panjang
2. Ketika duduk di kursi atau tempat tidur, letakkan paha dan kaki di KAFO
3. Posisikan tumit kaki di bagian belakang dan bagian bawah kaki sebagai penyangga
4. Kencangkan tali kulit di betis dan paha. Tarik untuk memastikan kaki tidak meleset di KAFO
5. Pakai sepatu biasa, sepatu khusus tidak diperlukan
6. Sebelum berdiri, pastikan bahwa mekanisme penguncian pada KAFO telah dilakukan
Jadwal Penggunaan
Pada hari pertama, mulailah dengan memakai KAFO selama satu (1) jam. Setelah satu jam, lepaskan KAFO dan periksa kulit Anda. Beberapa tanda merah kecil dapat diamati pada kulit Anda. Ini akan hilang sepenuhnya dalam 20-30 menit. Kemerahan ringan sering terjadi di area punggung kaki, dan tulang kaki / pergelangan kaki. Jika kemerahan tidak hilang dalam waktu 20-30 menit, atau jika Anda melihat ada lepuh atau memar, jangan pasang kembali KAFO orthosis ini. Hubungi kami untuk mencari solusi.
Pada hari kedua, pasang KAFO selama dua (2) jam. Periksa kulit, sekali lagi. Tingkatkan waktu pemakaian satu jam setiap harinya. Biasanya dibutuhkan waktu sekitar 7-10 hari agar KAFO bisa digunakan sepanjang hari. Terus periksa kulit Anda untuk mengetahui area yang mengkhawatirkan. Selanjutnya kenakan KAFO setiap harinya untuk mendapatkan hasil terbaik.
